Hap Question

Hi, I\'m just looking for advice, I\'m an accidental landlord, I rent my property out as I can\'t afford the mortgage repayments and rent another property cheaper and closer to where I work. My tenant is 6 months into a 12 month contract and has just informed me that he is applying for the HAP, I am nervous about this as my better half is expecting and I will definitely be selling the property at the end of the 12 month contract or perhaps before. What are the implications for a landlord when it comes to HAP? Do I have to accept a tenant who applies for HAP in the middle of a rent contract? If the tenant is accepted for HAP, is it going to cause problems for me selling the house at the end of the current tenancy?

Any advice would much appreciated.
