Rent allowance rules

By Bbw009 at 16:46, Thu April 12 2007, in Renting Questions - 3 responses

Hi, I have heard that the maximum rent allowance from social welfare is 750 euro per month, and that it is not allowed to rent accomodation for more than this amount.

I am looking at rents of about 1000 euro, and even if I could afford to pay the extra amount, I am afraid that I will not receive rent allowance. Is this true?

There also seems to be a general resistance to renting to people who request rent allowance.
