Cork Street - deadly, or just misunderstood?

Just looking at some rental properties that are fairly near cork street, dub 8. Rang the gardai to see how rough the area really was these days and was told its fine and theres nothing to worry about once you keep your wits about you. We are three girls in our mid twenties - chances of surviving the year without being knifed/mugged/murdered in the most horrific way before being chopped up into little tiny pieces, wrapped up in old quality street wrappers and given out as sweets on halloween?
