help with unreasonable/violent housemate

By sam7 at 20:15, Mon December 27 2010, in Advice on House shares - 3 responses

We are currently sharing a 7 bedroom house between 6 friends. We have only been living here for one month but one of the tenants, is giving us problems.
He hasn't paid any of his share of bills or oil, which myself and wife have covered for him. But more importantly he has a serious problem with anger, which has resulted in him causing arguments for no reason bullying my wife and several days ago he physically attacked her during one of his tempers, pushing her through a door whilst she was carrying a hot coffee and trying to get to her room.
What are our rights concerning getting him out of the house asap?he is not currently sleeping at the house he keeps coming back; his last rent hasnt been paid? is was due a couple of days ago.
We are unsure of his rigthts and our own as he hasn't signed the lease yet himself, only myself and wife's names are on the lease.
