I think it is a great pity that whatever the state of the economy that anyone of us should try to fleece another one...
And lads, we are all feeling/being fleeced so why fight amongst ourselves? Where will it get us?
On reading our history... t'was ever thus in Ireland. But if we always do what we always did, we'll always get what we always got. The last time it was 800 years of foreign rule.
Ordinary Irish people need to be united rather than trying to protect their own corner and we need to pressurise 'our' government into re-directing their energies into making the lives of Irish citizens better. The report that has just come out about the rising numbers in poverty in Ireland is stark.
As we all know, the problem in this country is not the private or public service. It is that we have too much debt which was not created by ordinary Irish people... So the solution must lie in solving the problem and not scratching about terrorising citizens.
Yet, we have elected so-called leaders who are doing just that.... following orders from Europe. We cannot let European absentee rulers continue with their cold imperial regulations while patting us on the head and telling us that we are good little European boys & girls.
I feel truly sad about all of this. Will we ever learn? Will we ever get true leaders again?
Michael Collins, where art thou?
