All over for Ireland Inc?

"...because we are covering the gambles taken by the European banks" Really, no mention of Irish ones?
"We were never rich and we have survived many famines." I think you'll find there was wealth during the Paper, sorry, Celtic Tiger years. That didn't last long. Tells you something about why Ireland can't handle money.
"The British don't get bullied because they stand tall and firm" No other reason? Just that simple is it?
"We are EQUAL members of the EU and we have contributed very heavily to it over time, giving up our lucrative fishing rights etc." I would suggest that Ireland has benefitted hugely from EU membership and most likely received more than we gave.
I admire your attitude but had to question your supporting arguments. As one who is coming home soon, I look on in horror and despair at what has happened and what is gong on, but pie in the sky is not going to solve anything.
Don't hand in the keys just yet. Wait for things to pick up. They will, they always do and then you have a stronger bargaining position. Pie in the sky too? Maybe, but at least the pie will feed us during the next famine.
