Daft.ie Extends Lead over Online Competitors
25th May 2007, Daft.ie Ireland's largest property website, has increased its lead over its online rivals according to figures in the latest audit by internet traffic specialists ABC Electronic. In March 2007 over three quarters of a million people accessed over 50 million pages on Daft.ie. This gives Daft.ie more than 50% market share of all Irish online property searches with the next biggest property website taking just under 30%.
Commenting on the figures, Eamonn Fallon, Director, Daft.ie said "The explosion in broadband use in the home and in the office has lead to record numbers of people using the internet to search for property and Daft.ie has largely benefited from this growth. Online is now the number one medium for selling and letting property, which represents a tipping point for the property advertising industry. Consumers are realising that websites like Daft.ie are a reason to get connected because we give them access to a much wider choice of properties than is available elsewhere."
