Daft.ie Launches First Property App Developed for the iPad
Dublin, 10th August, 2010 - Daft.ie, Ireland's largest property website, has today announced the availability of the Daft.ie iPad app, an application developed for browsing and searching properties using Apple's iPad. Daft.ie is the first Irish property portal to launch an app developed specifically for the iPad. The new app has been optimised to take advantage of the generous iPad screen, particularly where media viewing is concerned.
The features of the new iPad app are similar to those of the iPhone app launched by Daft in December last year. iPad owners can use the tablet's touch screen to browse Daft's database of 100,000 properties, view high resolution property photos, arrange viewings directly from the app, search for houses and apartments near the user's current location, or get directions to a particular property. Favourite property searches can also be saved and refined, for browsing at a later date.
Ciarán Maher, CTO at Daft Media commented, "The Daft.ie iPhone app has been extremely successful with almost 50,000 downloads since the beginning of the year. Performance and feedback exceeded expectations. We've now taken the same approach to designing our iPad app, but we've paid particular attention to ensuring media looks really great with high res property photos and photo galleries that are easy for iPad users to navigate."
The Daft.ie iPad and iPhone apps are available today and free to download from the iTunes library here.
