Bettystown is best known for its fabulous sandy beaches, sand dunes and scenic coastline. It is 3 miles from the M1, 4 miles from Drogheda, 20 minutes from Dublin airport and convenient to both Drogheda and Laytown train stations.

Bettystown (Irish: Baile an Bhiataigh), previously known as Betaghstown] is a small, rapidly expanding, village in County Meath,Together with the neighbouring villages of Laytown and Mornington it comprises the census town of Laytown-Bettystown-Mornington. In recent years, with the huge increases in Dublin house prices, Bettystown expanded to cater for large numbers of commuters to Dublin.The Dublin and Drogheda Railway line opened on 25 May 1844 and since then the village has been served by Laytown railway station. The opening of the M1 motorway between Dublin and Northern Ireland as well as the frequent rail service from Laytown to Dublin have made commuting a realistic option.

Transport
Road Access - The much-improved M1 - Drogheda Bypass has shortened the trip to Dublin City immensely. There is very easy access to the M1 Motorway and the airport can be accessed within 25 minutes and the M50 in 30 minutes. The seaside village is well served by local public transport including bus and train services. Commuters enjoy fast access to Dublin City by train (approximately 1 hour) with railway stations at Laytown and Drogheda. Alternatively for motorists, the M1 Motorway will shorten your journey time significantly to Dublin Airport, the M50, Dublin City Centre or Belfast
Bus - Matthews Coaches are providing a fabulous service with buses passing by the door every hour with a direct route to Dublin City. This is a very fast and inexpensive route to Dublin City where they avail of the Bus lanes and Parnell Street can be accessed in c. 1 hour. CIE also provide a great service also.
Train - There are numerous Trains daily between Dublin city Centre and both Drogheda and Laytown Railway Station. Irish Rail offers a great service with up to 28 trains running daily from Laytown to Dublin City and up to 40 trains running from Drogheda. The approximate journey time from Laytown Station is 45 - 50 minutes and from Drogheda Station is just under 1 hour.
