Lovely comfortable 3 bedroom ivy clad house with enclosed front and rear gardens and patio area. Beside the world famous salmon river Moy and 5 minutes walk to Ballina town centre. 45 minutes drive from Knock International Airport. Convenient to bus and railway stations, restaurants, shops and pubs. There are regular bus and train connections to Dublin and other towns and cities throughout Ireland. The house has timber floors throughout and is warm and full of character. It accomodates 4 people - double bed in large bedroom and single beds in 2 bedrooms with electric blankets on all of the beds. The kithen is fully equiped and the utility room contains washing machine, spin dryer, freezer and space for drying wet coats etc. The comfortable sitting room has cable TV and DVD. There is a bath, electric shower, electric heater and an extractor fan in the bathroom.The North Mayo capital of Ballina, built on the banks of the river Moy is a warm, welcoming and hospitable town. It is one of the most famous salmon fishing towns in the world and provides opportunities for angling suiting all levels of fisherman. It is an ideal location for exploring the unspoilt beauty of North Mayo and West Sligo. There are opportunities for golfing, fishing, sea angling, hill walking, mountain climbing, sailing, swimming, diving, surfing, horse riding. There is an 18 hole golf course on the outskirts of the town and also 18 hole links courses in Eniscrone (10 km) and Belmullet (40 km). Within a 10 km radius there are excellent safe beaches at Eniscrone, Lacken and Ross. The impressive St Muredach's Cathedral stands imposingly on the banks of the River Moy and beside it you have the remains of the Augustinian Abbey. A few miles from Ballina and near to Killala you have the historic 15th century Moyne Abbey anf Rosserk Friary.In Ballina town there are indoor and outdoor tennis courts, swimming pool, fully equiped leisure complex, cinema and an excellent children's playground. The 78 hectacre woodland of Belleek is located on the outskirts of Ballina along the river Moy and beside Belleek Castle Hotel. There are lovely woodland walks and trails through the forest.
Each July the town hosts the Ballina Salmon Festival which also incorporates the Ballina Street and Arts Festival. It provides a week long feast of free entertainment for all the family and attracts thousands of visitors to the town. The activities include - Heritage Day,Dragon Boat Race on the Moy, Country & Western Night, Traditional Music and Ceili, Lady of the Moy, Ballina Agricultural and Horse Show, Historic walking tours of the town, Talent competitions, Tea Dance, Teddy Bears Picnic, and finishing with a spectaculour Mardi Gras and fireworks display. The town also hosts the Humbert Summer School with interesting debates and lectures held over a weekend.
