New Campus

The 2014 academic year saw 1,000 students start their studies on the newly redeveloped Grangegorman campus which features many refurbished 19th century buildings as well as state-of-the-art facilities. By September 2017, the student population on the Grangegorman campus is expected to reach 10,000.

Future Plans

The overall Grangegorman Project will see the development of a unified campus for DIT, consolidating from 39 buildings originally onto a single site for the first time in its history. In partnership with IT Tallaght and IT Blanchardstown, DIT is preparing to apply for designation as a Technological University for Dublin under new legislation to be brought forward shortly by Government.

Research & Innovation

DIT is significantly increasing its capacity in research and innovation on the Grangegorman campus. The Greenway Hub, funded by PRTLI and Enterprise Ireland, will be home to the researchers of the Environment, Sustainability and Health Institute (ESHI) by January 2016. The campus will also be home to the award-winning DIT Hothouse incubation facility and commercialisation team which has helped create nearly 200 sustainable businesses attracting €115 million in equity investment and creating approximately 1,300 jobs.

Amenities

Sports

DIT has a great sporting tradition across a wide spectrum of sports. The Grangegorman campus is home ground to DIT’s outdoor competitive team sports of camogie, Gaelic football, hurling, rugby and soccer. The Kevin St. campus houses some of DIT’s recreational facilities, including an 18 metre swimming pool and climbing wall.  In addition to Grangegorman's on-campus facilities, students can also access the Larkin College sports complex which offers facilities for badminton, hockey, futsal and climbing.

Student life

DIT Grangegorman's north inner city location means you’re never too far from anything that grabs your interest. Dublin has a wide range of cafes, bars, pubs, restaurants, shops, museums, pop-up shops, outdoor markets, art galleries and entertainment facilities, not to mention concert venues, theatres, festivals and events. One notable benefit of attending DIT are the free eye examinations in the National Optometry Centre at DIT Kevin Street while many businesses offer student discounts on a range of products and services throughout the capital.

Students’ Union

The Students' Union is run for students by students. It's the place to go if you have a query or need some extra support, as well as having lots of extra information pertaining to education and welfare.
