College Highlights

  • New Campus

The 2014 academic year saw 1,000 students start their studies on the newly redeveloped Grangegorman campus which features many refurbished 19th century buildings as well as state-of-the-art facilities. By September 2017, the student population on the Grangegorman campus is expected to reach 10,000.

  • Future Plans

The overall Grangegorman Project will see the development of a unified campus for DIT, consolidating from 39 buildings originally onto a single site for the first time in its history. In partnership with IT Tallaght and IT Blanchardstown, DIT is preparing to apply for designation as a Technological University for Dublin under new legislation to be brought forward shortly by Government.

  • Research & Innovation

DIT is significantly increasing its capacity in research and innovation on the Grangegorman campus. The Greenway Hub, funded by PRTLI and Enterprise Ireland, will be home to the researchers of the Environment, Sustainability and Health Institute (ESHI) by January 2016. The campus will also be home to the award-winning DIT Hothouse incubation facility and commercialisation team which has helped create nearly 200 sustainable businesses attracting €115 million in equity investment and creating approximately 1,300 jobs.
