About Team Daft

  • Mark was injured in a fall over the weekend. He is in a stable but serious condition in the Royal Berkshire Hospital after a fall from an upper floor window.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark at this time and we hope he has a speedy recovery.

  • 100 Miles Offshore and Out of Reach

As you can see from the pic of the geotag, this Audioboo podcast snippet was recorded while Team Daft were 100 miles off the west coast, unfortunately out of phone coverage to allow me post it, but still the GPS on the iPhone was working well enough to geotag the post.

    Can you hear the fear?

  • Team Daft as first 2 handed boat to arrive to Wicklow Bay in The Round Ireland Yacht Race!

We completed the race as the first of eight boats in that division, but though handicapping Psipsina appears to take the overall two-handed class.

  • Videos from day 3

3 new videos today from aboard the Team Daft boat.

  • No ability to run any of our electronics…

We have a huge problem with the alternator and all electronics on board. Back up auto helm cut out during a gybe with the big kite up. We seem to have cracked a spreader and have dropped the kite for safety. No power, cracked spreader, effects of sleep deprivation hitting – great fun aboard Team Daft.

We’re keeping 4th position in the Race though, Tori Island is behind us and we’re tracking across the north in fresh winds.
