The Main Georgian house consists of 7 bedrooms, with ceiling heights of 3.01m to the principal rooms, 4 bathrooms, underground cellar, 2 drawing rooms and kitchen, while the Coach house attached, is a new build (2014), and the owner has kept with the Georgian Design of the main house, which contains kitchen/dining area, stairs, 2 bedrooms and bathroom and storage. The owner has spared no expense in the best of quality work and workmanship and the importance of keeping the history emerged and not lost, in this superb Georgian Property. To the rear of the property is a large garage with ample storage space, gravel forecourt, and steps leading to 0.5 acre of secluded stone wall back garden. The yard is suitable for a variety of uses and could be converted to provide further accommodation or business space, subject to necessary planning consents. The house occupies an elevated yet secluded private position and is located in a scenic rural area at the edge of the picturesque River Nore, set amongst peaceful green countryside. The castle from which this village takes its name was built in the 13th century, it was taken by the Fitzpatrick family and burned to the ground in 1600 to prevent the English seizing control of it, the foundations and part of the walls remain. During the 1800's, Bianonci House was used as a stage coach house for people travelling by horse and cart from Dublin to Limerick. The older Irish name for the village was Baile Chaisleáin Ua bhFoirchealláin (meaning "castle-town of Uí Fhoirchealláin"). Today Castletown, which is on the main Dublin to Limerick Road has been bypassed and is a tranquil village with a lovely setting of the River Nore where locals come to swim and cool off on hot summer days. The town has won many awards over the years in the Tidy Towns Competitions, winning the overall National Title in 2002. Castletown is situated in the heart of the midlands. A new road bridge was built in 1972 which relieved traffic congestion in the village. The village is served by Bus Eireann Expressway route 12 linking it to Dublin, Dublin Airport, Portlaoise, and Limerick. Mountrath and Castletown Railway Station, opened on 1 September 1848, closed for goods traffic on 3 November 1975 and finally closed altogether on 6 September 1976. Nowadays the nearest train stations are Portlaoise railway station and Ballybrophy railway station. The main towns nearby are Roscrea, Borris In Ossory, Rathdowney, Durrow, Abbeyleix, Mountrath, and Portlaoise with all amenities close by, that each town has to offer. There is plenty of attractions nearby, to mention a few, Slieve Bloom Mountains, Devils Bit, Rock of Dunamaise, Emo Court, Ballaghnmore Castle, Abbey of Aghaboe and many more. This rare opportunity is not to be missed and viewing of this unique property will not bring disappointment but rather a vision of obtaining and owning such a piece of history.
