The access hall to the front is spacious and does give easy access around the house. The country style half door to Plum Cottage is sweet and a lovely feature. Porcelain floor tiles make for easy use and the hand-crafted stairs is a one off and fits perfectly into the space.
With the upgrade the house was rewired, replumbed, a new central heating system installed, all new ceiling, floors and doors, skirtings, architraves, as well as doors and windows. That's a lot of upgrading.
The living room is a nice bright room that links directly with the kitchen. It is a space that would be used, and its finish is perfect. A solid fuel fireplace with a cast iron insert and rustic surround, recessed lights and timber flooring combine to leave a comfortable space.
The use of reclaimed brick in the kitchen, has a warm feel and never dates. The hand made units in the kitchen are in excellent condition and the slate floor tile do fit with the rustic olde worlde theme. French doors lead to a timber porch to the rear and again this holds great character and charm. There's a great living area to one end of the kitchen with a solid fuel stove guaranteeing a level of snugness. A side door from the front open to this space. This kitchen/dining/living area is a great room and really lovely to sit in.
There's one bedroom on the ground floor that's double in size and in perfect condition, the furniture is free standing and its easily accessed off the entrance hall. The family bathroom is centrally located on the ground floor and has an excellent specification.
There are 3 bedrooms on the first floor, with an excellent finish located centrally to them. All the rooms are spacious and could be seen as double in size. Plum Cottage is a lovely property with a warm feel. Its rustic theme runs the whole way through and when you consider its size and finish it really has to be seen as excellent value for money.
