Description

  • Sale Type: For Sale by Private Treaty
Site 1: measures approx.0.21 Ha. / 0.51 acres. Site 2: measures approx.0.18 Ha. / 0.44 acres. Offers of Euro 47,500 [site 1] and Euro 42,500 [site 2] invited and will be sold subject to planning permission. These two sites come to the market as a perfect opportunity to build a residence that offers the convenience of being close to all amenities whilst also enjoying the comforts of countryside living. The sites have recently been cleared, water, electricity and telephone services [inc. high-speed fibre broadband] run adjacent to the county road. Location: With lough and mountain views, the sites lie 1 mile (1.6 km) southwest of the village of Creeslough, approx. 6 miles from Dunfanaghy and 10 miles from Downings; attractively situated at the head of Sheephaven Bay and in the heart of some of the most outstanding scenery in the West of Ireland. Full planning permission had been granted for high quality architecturally designed 4/5-bedroom houses of approx. 190m2 / 2000ft2 of spacious modern accommodation on two floors. Directions: - From Letterkenny, proceed on N56 circa 25 km [15 miles] towards the village of Creeslough. At the Creeslough and 60Km/h road sign take next road left and continue for approximately 1.6 km [1 mile]. The sites are located on the right-hand side of the road. Local services are in Creeslough and Dunfanaghy which offer amenities such as shopping, bars, restaurants and garage. The main shopping hub is Letterkenny [25Km] the largest and most populous town in Donegal and is considered to be the economic and educational centre of the north-west region. Nearby airports include Donegal Airport (40km), offering regular connection to Dublin and City of Derry Airport (72 km) for UK destinations and onwards. There can be few areas of Ireland that enjoy, in an unpolluted environment, such a wealth of opportunity for open-air activities. Besides the glorious beaches at Dunfanaghy, Downings and Marble Hill, the entire area is a fisherman's paradise with trout and salmon loughs and rivers and also sea-angling. The nearby Lough Rooskey is a stocked fly-fishing trout lough. Both rock and mountain climbing are popular in this stunning landscape with Muckish, Errigal and the Derryveagh Mountains easily reachable. In the area there are four 18-hole golf courses. Horse riding, cycling and painting are ever popular in the area. A herd of native red deer roams the oak forest in the nearby 10,000 hectare Glenveagh National Park, famed for its castle, formal gardens, lakes, rare birds and exotic plants. For golfing enthusiasts, while Rosapenna Golf course in Downings (14 km) has two championship links courses - Sandy Hills and Old Tom Morris - and a third course St. Patrick's Links by Tom Doak, Dunfanaghy Golf Club (9 km) also offers one of the finest links courses in Donegal. Creeslough is a most attractive part of Co. Donegal being within 30 minutes of Letterkenny town centre and in the opposite direction is close to the popular coastal areas of Port Na Blagh and Dunfanaghy. Ards Forest National Park, which is within a short drive, provides scenic country walks and the magnificent sandy Killahoey beach is arguable one of the finest sandy beaches in the county. Donegal is also famed for its quality water sports: windsurfing, water-skiing, subaqua, canoeing and sailing have come to the fore in recent times. Many visitors and tourists come to the area specifically to surf and sail the coast at all times of the year. The surrounding beaches at Tra Na Rossan, Gortnalughoge and Sheephaven Bay are visually magnificent and some of the best in the country for enjoying with family and friends. A short drive from the sites is the spectacular blue flag beach at Marble Hill, ideal for friends and relations for days out in the summer season. The Shandon Hotel Spa Resort is also located at Marble Hill and can provide for a relaxing day out. The Glen Bar and Restaurant [voted best bar in Ireland!] is only a short drive away.
