Historical Footnote:
The property has a significant historical past being part of the former large Winfield Estate in Moylough, Co. Galway. The Jameson family purchased the property which originally formed part of the Blake Estate in the 1820's. The Jameson family were a Dublin family well known in the 19th Century distilling and banking circles in Dublin and Jameson bought the Windfield Estate, Moylough in the Barony Tiaquin, Co. Galway from the Blakes in the early 1820's.

The Jameson name is synonymous with the Whiskey and the distillery business and by the turn of the 19th Century it was the largest producer of Whiskey in Ireland and also the largest in the World producing one million gallons of Whiskey annually. Dublin at the time was the centre of world Whiskey production and it was the second most popular spirit in the world after rum and internationally Jameson had by 1805 become the World's No. 1 Whiskey.
