A cable car will take you to Dursey Island where you can see basking sharks from the coastline. The Mizen Peninsula and lighthouse, Barleycove Beach, and Crookhaven are all interesting day-trips. Sheep's Head Peninsula is a walker's paradise for bird watching as well as whale watching. Historical Bantry House features concerts throughout the season and is definitely worth a visit. On the ground floor of the cottage there is a lounge-diner with open fireplace, kitchen diner, sun porch, a double bedroom with en suite shower, a twin bedded room, a bathroom with separate shower cubicle, and a utility room.
