We are excited to bring to the market this landmark property in the heart of Achill Island. The Achill Head Hotel has been a leader in the hospitality industry in Achill for decades and continues to thrive in the booming tourist trade in Achill Island along the wild Atlantic way.

The property is located in Pollagh, keel which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged west of Ireland countryside. Both Keel beach and Keem bay are just a few minute's walk up the road. The local Church (Dookinella Church our Lady of the Assumption) is also very close to the hotel which attracts a lot of extra business to the hotel.

The property is been offered for sale as a going concern including the building itself, all the furniture, fixtures and fittings as well as all the bookings, Websites, booking agents accounts, backroom systems, staff etc

The business is fully operational and consists of the following;

The accommodation comprises of 22 en-suite bedrooms - there is a mixture of double, twin and family rooms with many boasting amazing uninterrupted sea views of the Atlantic Ocean.

There is a large sea front restaurant/function room with its own fully equipped bar which is located just off the kitchen area. As well as a restaurant this area hosts many private functions, events etc and can be adapted to suit any event requirement.

The main bar and lounge was totally refurbished in 2018 and has a funky American themed decor. The bar was fitted with state of the art till/stock control system, new camera system, air conditioning system, TV and jukebox with surround sound, all of which will be left in situ for the new owner. The licence occupancy for the main bar area is 150 people.

Off the bar there is a games room which has a pool table, poker machine, slot machines as well as cigarette and snack vending machines. This area is very popular and the revenue collected from this area alone is incredible.

The only nightclub in Achill (and within a 45 mile radius) is housed to the back of the property which has its own separate entrance. This "social hub" is licences for 430 people and is very often full to capacity. It is fully fitted out with up to date lighting and sound systems. There are two fully equipped bars in the night club. Again the night club earns immense revenue for the business.

There is one large kitchen area located in the centre of the property which was fully refurbished in 2017. All the equipment was fitted new, the kitchen is in stainless steel and a new walk in freezer and walk in fridge was also fitted - again all of this will be left to the new owner.

A new gym area has just recently been created to the back of the property which has a number of different gym equipment including treadmill, rowing machine, weigh machines etc. There is also revenue from a masseuse and fitness classes that operate in the hotel.

There is a massive private car park adjacent to the property with more than ample parking. Also the overall site is large with plenty of scope for further development/extensions.

The property is in very good condition throughout and all areas of the business are doing very well and continue to grow annually. Like all hotel's the Achill Head Hotel has a number of revenue streams and continues to expand and add new elements to the business to help it prosper and inevitable gain higher profits.

Achill Island is located in County Mayo on the west coast of Ireland. Its location on the Atlantic seaboard puts it at the heart of the Wild Atlantic Way, a spectacular 2,500km driving route along Ireland's western coast. Connected to the mainland by a bridge since 1887, Achill has long been one of the country's most popular holiday locations and is now one of the 'must see' destinations of the Wild Atlantic Way. Achill occupies some 57 sq miles (148 sq km) and has a population of about 2700.

Visitors to Achill can enjoy five Blue Flag beaches as well as numerous unclassified beaches and coves including Dooagh beach. Achill's stunning landscape includes the iconic Minaun Cliffs and Keem Bay, a perfect horseshoe bay accessed via a hillside road leading down to a golden Blue Flag beach. Keem Bay is one of Achill's four 'Discovery Points' on the Wild Atlantic Way, with two further Discovery Points to be found on the neighboring islands of Inishbiggle and Clare, two more at Corraun, and a further two close by at Mulranny.

Activities available for visitors to Achill include surfing (Keel strand is one of Ireland's most popular surfing destinations), windsurfing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hill walking, horse-riding, scuba diving, rock climbing and much more. Cycling is particularly popular, with three looped trails available as part of the Achill Cycle Hub, and the world-class Great Western Greenway, a 42km off-road track from Achill Sound to Westport following the route of a long-disused railway line.

As you can imagine given the above information, Achill is a hive of activity, especially in summer time but all year round there is always events and workshops happening in Achill.

The Achill Head Hotel benefits greatly from all the activity and the influx of tourists which flock to Achill island annually. This makes the Achill Head Hotel an exceptional investment opportunity with great potential to extend and expand the business.
