The bustling port town of Newport (1.6 miles) has many restaurants to enjoy and a supermarket for all your essentials. Traditional music and great Craic is available everyday of the week in the many of the pubs. The bungalow has everything you need for your stay - there are 2 adult bikes available free of charge. From Newport you can join the Great Western Greenway, the longest off-road walking and cycling trail in Ireland. The famous Croagh Patrick Mountain is less than 15 miles away.

The World Class Great Western Greenway is a traffic free cycling and walking trail which follows the route of the renowned Westport to Achill railway which closed in 1937

~ Bike hire is available in Newport town

~ Sea fishing is available in Clew Bay which is accessible in many spots on the surrounding coastline or alternatively charter fishing is available in town and there are many companies that would be happy to take your group out.

~ Salmon fishing is available in Lough Beltra between March and September and this can be arranged locally in the town.

~ St Patricks Church dominates the town. It has a fascinating history and is free to enter. There is also a large St Patricks day parade on the 17th March.

~ Many visitors spend time on the magnificent stone built 7 arch railway viaduct that spans the Black Oak River - A photo not to be missed.
