And thanks to the double-height ceilings with exposed beams, everywhere feels cool and inviting. When the coast finally lures you, nearly ten miles of sandy beaches await. The very nearest – Burriana Beach (a twelve-minute drive), gets our vote. Then make a pit stop in Nerja's Old Town (a ten-minute drive) to dive into its countless authentic restaurants for a taste of Malaga. Or, in the opposite direction, Frigiliana (a ten-minute drive) with its tapas bars tucked away within the atmospheric narrow streets of the Moorish old quarter. Just be sure to make it home for sunset – the views from that rooftop terrace are out-of-this-world.
