Spacious double room with meals included in quiet family home near University of Galway. A spacious, comfortable double bedroom is available for a university student in our family home overlooking Lough Corrib. The room is bright and generously sized, with a double bed, wardrobe, desk and plenty of storage space. It is on the first floor and has a large adjoining bathroom with a walk-in shower. In practice, the student will have almost exclusive use of this bathroom, as the other upstairs bedrooms have ensuite facilities. We are a family of four with two primary school-aged children and a friendly Border Collie. The house is warm, relaxed and generally quiet, and we are looking for someone who would enjoy being part of a family home while also having plenty of their own space and privacy. The accommodation is available during the university academic term, from September to June, Sunday evening to Friday morning. It is not available during Christmas, Easter or summer holidays. Breakfast and a good-quality home-cooked evening meal are included from Monday evening to Thursday evening. We enjoy cooking and are very happy to accommodate reasonable dietary preferences where possible. The house is in a peaceful location outside the city centre, approximately a 35 to 40 minute walk from the north campus of University of Galway. It would particularly suit someone who cycles or drives. Secure bicycle storage and off-street parking are available. This would suit someone looking for a calm alternative to a busy student house, somewhere comfortable to study, eat well and recharge at the end of the day. We are very welcoming of autistic and other neurodivergent students, and are happy to discuss any preferences that would help someone feel comfortable and settled in the home.
