The house was built in 2022 and is A1-rated, so it’s really warm and well insulated. It’s a modern home, but definitely not a grey-and-white new-build show home. I’ve put a lot of love into making it cosy, colourful and comfortable, with lots of plants, books, art and personality. All bills are included in the rent. Available early/mid September. I’m currently finishing the bedroom, so there’s some flexibility around the exact move-in date. The room & bathroom The room is a double bedroom which I’m currently completely refreshing and furnishing, hence the lack of bedroom photos for now. It’ll be freshly decorated and will have a double bed, wardrobe and storage ready for move-in. You’ll also essentially have the main bathroom to yourself. I have an en-suite in my bedroom, so I very rarely use the main bathroom. The house Downstairs there’s a large kitchen/dining area and a separate cosy living room, downstairs bathroom and utility with washer and drier. The house has all the usual mod cons, including dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, coffee machine, air fryer and high-speed WiFi. I try to be reasonably eco-conscious, so I don’t use things like the dryer unnecessarily, but it’s absolutely there when needed. There’s also parking available, bike storage and side access to the garden as the house is end-terrace. The garden The garden is probably my favourite part of the house. It’s unusually big for a newer Dublin home, with a large patio, covered pergola, outdoor daybed, big swing chair and lots of plants and flowers. It’s not a pristine show garden. It’s more of a colourful, slightly wild garden with things growing everywhere and plenty of little places to sit with a coffee, read, potter around or just enjoy being outside. When the Irish weather decides to cooperate, it’s basically an extra living space. Location The location is really handy while still being very close to nature. The Luas is right on the doorstep, there’s a bus into the city centre directly outside the estate and Citywest Shopping Centre is a stone’s throw away, so groceries, cafés, shops and everyday essentials are all very close. We’re also really close to the Dublin Mountains, which you can actually see from the house. It’s a lovely spot if you like walking, hiking or getting out into nature while still having easy access into town. A little about the household You’ll be sharing the home with me and my small, very friendly dog, Maisie, so being comfortable living with a dog is important. I’m autistic and ADHD, so this is a very neurodivergent-friendly household. You absolutely don’t need to be ND yourself, but I mention it because it probably gives a good idea of the vibe here. I love a good chat, but my social battery can disappear fairly quickly too. Sometimes I’ll happily chat away in the kitchen and other times I’ll retreat upstairs and recharge. There’s genuinely no expectation around socialising here. If you like an occasional coffee, chat or hangout, lovely. If you prefer coming home, saying hello and retreating into your room to decompress, also lovely. You won’t offend me! I’m quite independent and appreciate living with people who are comfortable doing their own thing too. Basically, I’d like the house to be somewhere everyone can relax without feeling like they need to be “on” around each other.
