Rising high above the sea, the land is interspersed with numerous quiet glens, running down to small, secluded beaches. An Caille Beara in Old Parish is a megalithic tomb dating from around 2,000 BC. Mine Head Lighthouse, dating from 1851 warns "ships that pass in the night" of the dangerous cliffs below while Reilig an tSleibhe (The Hill Cemetry) is a reminder of famine days in Ireland. You can draw inspiration from the colour, the culture and the vitality of this vibrant Gaeltacht.

7 Beaches:
An Rinn and An Sean Phobal have some of the most beautiful, unspoilt beaches in the South East of Ireland. An Coinigear in An Rinn, is perhaps the most famous, and when the tide is favourable, it is possible to walk out along the spit across Dungarvan Bay, practically as far as Dungarvan town, with spectacular views. The property itself is situated only a few minutes' walk from a small, secluded, almost 'secret' beach set at the end of a beautiful country path.
Other beaches in An Rinn include Baile na nGall and the Cove in Heilbhic, a lovely secluded, pebbled beach near Heilbhic Pier.
