Tigroney House is a magnificent Georgian country residence complete with gate lodge and outbuildings set on approximately 100 acres of mature woodland and grazing lands in a spectacular setting in the Vale of Avoca overlooking the Avoca River. Built in the 1800's and once the family home of the Wynne sisters, founders of the neighbouring Avoca Handweavers, this fine property is steeped in both character and history.

The Main House
A winding tree lined avenue leads to the exceptional main house, of approximately 505 sq.m (5,435 sq.ft). Tigroney House is entered through a front porch which leads to the grand entrance foyer with a central split staircase. Off the foyer is the drawing room which is a large light filled room with marble fireplace, bow window, original coving and cornicing and door to the garden. To the rear of the foyer a door leads to a modern fitted kitchen complete with integrated appliances, feature fireplace and two sets of double French doors to the garden. To the front of the house there is a spacious lounge with feature marble fireplace and original cornicing and coving. A door from the lounge leads to a back hall off which there is a study/TV room , boot room which houses the modern heating system, full bathroom and spacious utility room.

At first floor level there is an elegant landing which is entered from the central staircase. Here we find a large master bedroom with marble fireplace and balcony. The master bedroom enjoys spectacular views across the valley and gardens below. Across the landing there is a similar sized bedroom to the master and newly fitted bathroom with high end tiling and sanitary ware. To the rear there are a further five bedrooms, three of which require renovation works.

The main house has recently undergone major renovation, upgrading and decorative works with the entire original house being restored to a very high standard with many of the original features being restored including cornicing, coving and fireplaces. The current owners have replaced the roof, re-plastered many of the internal walls, re-plumbed the entire house and installed a state of the art heating system. The rear extended portion of the house requires some renovation and construction works.

Outside the main house there are spacious gardens that enjoy breath taking views, with many mature trees and shrubs. Off the avenue there is a walled garden of approximately 1.2 acres with many specimen plants and flowers.

Tigroney House is surrounded by approximately 100 acres of land with 60 acres in grass and 40 acres of woodland. The grass lands are of good quality and ideal for grazing. The woodlands are all mature trees and mainly hardwood. The land stretches from close to Avoca village and runs along side the Avoca River and back up to the top of the valley. The Dublin to Rosslare train line dissects the land at one point and there is a tunnel access to these. With river frontage and large tracks of woodland, Tigroney House is ideal for both hunting and fishing.
