LOCATION
Graigue Farm is located a short distance from the picturesque village of Shanballymore, County Cork. Shanballymore in irish is " An Seanbhaile Mór" which translates to " Old Town" and is situated on the North bank of the Awbeg River between the towns of Mitchelstown and Mallow. Mallow is located approx. 9 miles, Cork approx. 21 miles from Graigue Farm. Mallow is nicknamed the ' Crossroads of Munster' for its location to the surrounding counties of Co. Cork.

Mallow
Mallow town is steeped in history and was initially developed as a defensive settlement protecting an important ford on the River Blackwater. The town developed rapidly and became famous as a spa resort, has become known as ' The Irish Bath' . The town has prospered as a market town due to its excellent surrounding agricultural lands, central location and railway network. Standing in the centre of the town on the banks of the Blackwater is The old Mallow Castle which adds to the character of the town.

Mallow town has so much to offer with excellent arts and cultural venues and events throughout the year with traditional music, drama groups, music classes and other cultural events. There is a cinema in the town to cater for family events and some
picturesque walks along the Blackwater Way, Killavullen Loop and Ballyhoura Mountain Park. Mallow offers some superb sporting activates with a GAA club, rugby clubs. Family funcan be enjoyed with equestrian activities, swimming, walking and
hiking through magnificent countryside full of wildlife. From a demographic point of view Mallow is the 5th largest town in County Cork. Cork is often referred to as " The Rebel County" . This name has origins in the 15th century, but came more prominent around the Irish War of independence (1919 - 1921) when considerable fighting broke out in Cork.

Equestrian enthusiasts are catered for with hunting offered by the famed Dulallow Hunt and the local Mallow Racecourse. The area also offers a widerselection of activities including golf clubs such as Mallow Golf Club, Kinsale Golf Club and Fota Island Resort Golf Club which is regarded as one of the finest golf clubs in Ireland. Anglers are also well catered for with Ballyhase Lake not too far away.

THE LANDS
Comprising some 298 acres / 120 hectares the lands are of premier quality and set out in 2 well sized blocks and serviced from good internal roadways. Both blocks are of good quality and would suit a number of faming enterprises, including dairying, mixed beef, tillage and bloodstock.

Block 1 - Graigue and Waterdyke This block is laid out in 10 well-sized divisions and has extensive road frontage. This block of lands is located about 1km / 0.5 miles from Graigue House and comprising some 105 acres / 42 hectares approximately. Laid out in 5 divisions with some 60 acres / 24 hectares under tillage, 25 acres / 10 hectares under
permanent pasture and the remaining 20 acres / 8 hectares cleared and suitable for reclamation or planting. The lands are level, have a warm southerly aspect, are bounded by the
river Ogeen on one side and for the most part of good arable quality to either tillage or grassland farming.

The farmstead that is to the north of the residence is centrally located and has two main access points from the main entrance of the house and to the rear of the farm. It comprises a number of traditional and modern barns including 2 modern
hay barns and storage units, a large concrete apron with silage clamp, and a courtyard suitable for calving or lambing sheds as well as machinery storage.

Take the N72 Mallow/Cork road, pass through Kildorrey, continue for approx. 3 miles passing through Canteen Cross ( signs for Graigue and Shanballymore ), continue for approx. ¾ of a mile taking the next turn to the right ( sign Glenanaar Valley Garden Centre ), continue for approx. ½ mile
