While in the heart of the city, Portobello has a relaxed, bohemian atmosphere with artisan coffee shops, fine restaurants of character, some of the best pubs on the Southcentral Dublin and the popular recreational amenity of the Grand Canal for all nature of fun, relaxation, sport and socialising. The house has best of both worlds really; a private quiet space in a house share situation. A high quality well appointed maintained house, in an excellently central and quiet location. Portobello is a relaxed neighborhood for central city location. It features high on surveys of best places to live in the city, including pole position in a recent Irish Times survey of Dublin residential locations. This fashionable yet quiet city centre enclave, 20 minutes walking distance to Grafton Street (principal city centre shopping area) and the main business districts of Dublin 2 & 4 are adjacent this quiet central enclave. The house is also very relaxing and cosy in the evening time with dramatic lighting to emphasise some of the more attractive house features. (N.B. You can amble along Grand Canal bank walk meters from the house or ride a Dublin Bike along the cycle lane easily borrowed from the many Dublin Bike stations along the canal. Play tennis / Padel in Bushy or Herbert parks. Better still, you can enjoy a canal barge trip from Baggot Street Bridge to Portobello and back on a restaurant barge "La Peniche" ( or for the more adventurous, rent and paddle your own canoe at your own pace, when the weather is clement (usually on Saturday). We don't claim Portobello has everything, but it has most things on offer in Dublin. :-) The regularly features in national media polls of best Dublin district for central, but relaxed living with all amenities and transport links close-by.
