Property Description:

Templecarrig House is an elegant period property with majestic ocean views

History of Property
Major Anthony Windham Normand Brabazon was the 14th Earl Meath and grew up at the Kilruddery Demesne before joining the Grenadier Guards in 1930. He returned from the trenches in 1946 to a young family and to Templecarrig, an elegant double-fronted Georgian property overlooking the ocean. Templecarrig was built as an ancillary home to the Meath estate as the 14th Earl took up his reigns and finally inherited the title of Earl at the Kilruddery estate in 1949 until his later years when he passed away at the age of 88 in the late 1990' s.

Templecarrig House is a most charming period residence of generous proportions, which is situated on the brow of a hill on a superb site surrounded by mature trees and wonderful gardens. It is a double fronted residence featuring bay windows on three elevations offering a true sense of light while capturing the commanding views looking down onto the picturesque seaside town of Greystones. Sitting on approx. 10.25 acres with a delightful gate lodge to chaperone its entrance from the road.

This fine period property is a two storey house with a large wine cellar basement, and a lot of very fine period features including ceiling roses, decorative cornices and extends to approx. 452 sq.m / 4,876 sq.ft.

There are three main reception rooms and six bedrooms with the majority of the original trim including chimney pieces and ornate plaster work still intact to the present day. There' s a sunroom, large kitchen with a four - oven Aga and the house has an apartment annex with self - contained two-bed living accommodation. A previous owner upgraded some of the sash windows with single panes so that the incredible views are wholly uninterrupted.

The grounds include a coach house and also the gate lodge which are on the main grounds of the property. There is also a tennis court, and a croquet lawn that need a little reclaiming, though the gardens themselves have been kept in wonderful order. There' s a lovely sheltered patio, with wisteria winding about the walls, and a stable yard to the side.
